Troubleshooting common questions

The following is a few of the most common questions that we get from contractors that are using


  1. I cannot find my name when signing up.
    1. Make sure that the name is typed in the exact way the jurisdiction has it in their system. In some cases there can be hundreds of results when typing in common words like “plumbing” or “smith”. The results page for the sign ups can only show a limited number of contractors with that name so make sure you are typing it in as close as possible.
    2. Make sure that the contractor is already entered into BluePrince. If the contractor isn’t in BluePrince then it won’t be in our online system so, add the contractor and wait about 10-15 minutes for them to show up on
  2. I can’t find my property that I am working on.
    1. The most common reason for this is because it was entered into BluePrince in a different way than it is being searched for. My recommendations for searching for a property are to type in only the street number then finding the property in the list.
  3. I added a property but it isn’t showing up on my project page.
    1. The project page can only show up to 100 properties at a time. Try removing some older properties that you are no longer doing work at by going to Actions-> Remove Multiple Properties, and Delete a number of properties then add your property again.
  4. I do not have access to request inspections on a property that I am working on.
    1. In some cases there can be multiple properties with the same name in the system. Use the merge tool and combine these properties.
    2. The Contractor has to be named as the contractor in order to request inspections and named as the primary contractor in order to request permits. So go into BluePrince and make sure that this information is correct.
  5. We have multiple people that work under our account, how can I have a separate account for all of our employees.
    1. This is an option in our premium service, which is free for our bundled jurisdictions.
      1. To enable this go to settings-> make sure Premium service is selected. Then add a new account under the ”Premium services” section.
